My telegram 262 Assistant Superin- tendent of Police.
Further to vacancies already existing Mr. F.F.W. Shaftain will be going on leave prior to retirement on 15th May, 1948.
In view of present shortage of gazetted officers in the Colony it is requested that a replacement be provided immediately, without waiting for Shaftain's leave to expire.
Revised salary and conditions of service

of 12th February, 1948.
